The Pressure Institute

Pressure System Index (PSI)

The Pressure System Index is a structured, nonclinical pressure-response system developed by The Pressure Institute to help organizations gain earlier visibility into how people may respond as pressure increases.

Purpose and organizational context

Changes in communication, participation, or performance may be visible before an organization understands their context. PSI gives organizations a structured way to examine pressure-related responses and add context to conversations that might otherwise rely only on visible outcomes.

Organizations may inquire about its use in workplace, workforce development, leadership learning, and organizational change settings. Suitability depends on the population, organizational question, and boundaries for responsible use.

The PSI Snapshot

The PSI Snapshot is a brief, structured entry point designed to help organizations begin examining how people may be responding under pressure. It is used to support reflection and informed conversation, not to diagnose or label individuals.

What PSI does not do

PSI does not diagnose mental health conditions. It is not a personality test or a prediction of future behavior. Observable patterns require context; they should not be treated as proof of intent or ability.
